5 Engagement Cards and How They Work

Daily cards are the foundation of the Virgin Pulse daily engagement platform cueing up personalized, educational and informational bitesized content to your employees. In Spring 2021 we innovated on this functionality and released Announcement Cards, adding a fifth category to daily cards. This means more options for you to educate or communicate with your employees through your wellbeing program. And to help explain the different categories, we laid out exactly how each card type works.

Cards

Announcement Card

Our new daily card, "announcements" promotes important messages directly to your employees right from the admin portal. Envision these cards as a vehicle to provide employees with sensitive or timely updates around your wellbeing program or company during a defined time period. For example, announce mental awareness month, promote a new global partnership, socialize open enrollment dates or the launch of an employee summer program! 

  • Admins can build from the admin portal.
  • Member sees up to 4 per day (not rewardable).
  • Configure to appear during a specific date range.
  • Segment to certain populations based on your eligibility file.
  • Instructions on the Client Resource Center.
Survey Card

Prompt or remind members to participate in a survey. For example, enable a card for employees to take the Health Risk Assessment, or promote an engagement survey to collect employee insight around a company initiative that you just rolled out.

  • Configure a survey reminder card when you are setting up a survey in the admin portal.
  • Member sees up to 2 survey reminders per day. While completing a survey is rewardable, reading a survey reminder card is not.
  • Configure to appear during the duration of the survey.
  • Segment to certain populations based on your eligibility file.

Daily Tip Card

As a core functionality of our daily engagement platform, daily tip cards are educational and rewardable. They aim to improve health literacy across all topics of interests on a daily basis.

  • Admins can add custom daily tip cards from the admin portal.
  • Members see up to 2 tip cards per day (rewardable).
  • Refreshes new cards every day.
  • Segment to certain populations based on your eligibility file.
  • Instructions on the Client Resource Center.
Company Benefit Promotion

Similar to announcement cards in that company benefit promotion cards promote time-sensitive information. Where they differ is in the personalization component -- the system promotes specific benefits based on relevancy to the member's topics of interest, status and segmentation factors, serving up what matters most.

  • Configurable based on your benefits and programs page setup.
  • System generates cards fueled by our personalization engine (cards not rewardable).
  • Segment to certain populations based on your eligibility file. Plus segment by health status if Virgin Pulse's HRA is enabled for program.
  • Admin instructions are not available in the the Client Resource Center. Reach out to your Client Success Manager for more information on promoting company benefits.
Calendar Event Card

If you have company benefit events throughout the year, then the Events Calendar is a great tool for you. As part of the functionality, admins can promote a calendar event to members in their daily card stack. This is formerly the only way to ensure cards show on a specific date.

  • Configure an event card when you are setting up a calendar event in the admin portal.
  • Appears for 14 days prior to event start date.
  • Members see up to 2 per day (not rewardable).
  • Segment to certain populations based on your eligibility file.
  • Instructions on the Client Resource Center.
